Thoughts from the wayside! - with Buck-30
In 2017, travelers were delayed or detoured on the HST and many other trails in the west due to a late-season snowpack and heavy run-off which left streams swollen and unmanageable. Despite the forecast and possibility of having to turn back somewhere, Buck-30 took charge and led the way. He's known to have hiked more miles on Little Debbie snack cakes than anyone in the world! READ HIS TRAIL JOURNAL HERE.
Lessons from the Sierra! - with Dreams
In July of 2015, Drew Reams became the first person to complete The High Sierra Hot Springs section of the HST. READ ABOUT HIS HIKE and learn about this trail.
To celebrate New Years 2017, Dreams also completed a southbound hike on the southern end of The Coast Connect Trail and has a photo album for this hike WHICH CAN BE SEEN HERE.
A step ahead of the rest! - with DJ Freedom
Radio Host and Mammoth Mtn snow mogul DJ Freedom knows how to get the party started. Besides living on-trail, literally, he has started the first HOT SPRINGS TRAIL FACEBOOK GROUP which is "For anyone interested in hiking, soaking, and learning more about the HST in 2017." Join us!
Read about his upcoming attempt over at his site - FOOTSTEPS OF FREEDOM.
A firm handle on the trail! - with Bandi Caro
Currently in New Orleans but eager to get on trail, aspiring thru-soaker Bandi Caro was one of the first people to secure a 1st Edition Hot Springs Trail Bandana. She's also taken on the inspirational handle @HOTSPRINGSHIKER on Instagram.
